Asselberghs’ video analyses the ideological impasse of the post-1968 era and draws a dark, apparently hopeless image of an uncertain future emphasised through distinct cinematographic language. Fragmented, black & white images of the Belgian urban enviroment appear to be recorded partly with the support of a mobile-phone camera, without ever revealing specific locations. Asselbergs remarks: “The future is dark, which is on the whole the best thing the future can be, I think."
